EA is closing down its online support for late 2008’s Mercenaries 2: World In Flames. As of March 16th this year, you’ll no longer be able to play a multiplayer or co-op round of a game that’s been out for just seventeen months. This is part of another wave of EA gaming shutdowns that includes games barely a year old, as detailed on the rather optimistically named “ Service Updates ” section of EA...

If the " Madden Curse " is the unflapping revenge exacted by the fowl spirit of the Great Turducken, its devoured body unceremoniously carved up by the bare hands of John Madden on national television those many years ago (seriously, go wikipedia that joint ), then the annual "Madden NFL Super Bowl Simulation" is just ... plain math . In the latest case of crunching the numbers, Madden 10...

Yesterday we talked about a rumor that had been floating around thanks to Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello , who had mentioned the spring 2011 launch of an unnamed MMO on a recent conference call. Of course, the Star Wars: The Old Republic rumor mill sprang into action, with good cause as it turns out...
We no longer have to rely on Google-translated rumors about retailer listings regarding an upcoming Dragon Age expansion . EA has officially revealed Awakening , the first retail expansion for Dragon Age: Origins , due in stores March 16 for $40 -- and it's up for pre-order on GameStop now. (There's no word on a downloadable version.)
Awakening takes place after the (many) events of ...
Usually when we post something about PETA here on our gamez blawg , it's about the company protesting this or complaining about that . Not so today, as PETA's awarded EA Maxis' The Sims 3 with a Proggy Award for being the 'Most Animal-Friendly Game' of 2009. You may remember PETA gave the same award to Fable 2 last year.
The award this year is in recognition of The Sims 3 's abil...
Would you like to know more about BioWare's lengthy effort of creating the dark side classes in Star Wars: The Old Republic ? Well, of course you would! We mean, who wouldn't really? Well, probably Jedi, but nobody really listens to those guys anyhow. Except maybe for angst-ridden youth who've just recently discovered their father is a dark lord of the Sith. Oh, wait, nevermind.
